Presence on the National Stage: SK&A Validates USA Today’s Second Edition of the “Most Influential Physicians” List

It’s not often that a company gets national recognition for its work. Most companies produce their goods or services with few acknowledgments or rewards. That’s why we were thrilled this month to learn that our core competency—healthcare research—was publicized again in USA Today, one of the nation’s most-read newspapers.
USA Today’s “Most Influential Physicians” list was uploaded to the newspaper’s website with an accompanying story in the print edition, but not before SK&A had a crack at verifying the names and addresses of the physicians for accuracy prior to publication. This is the second straight quarter in which our Research Associates validated the data for the project.
This list—which now features 8,800 specialists in the treatment areas of breast cancer, depression, high cholesterol, high blood pressure, diabetes, asthma and arthritis from more than 330 communities across the U.S.—was compiled for USA Today by the medical information firm Qforma. SK&A verifies the doctors’ names, addresses and practicing statuses.
If you didn’t already know, our research team makes more than 6,000 telephone calls each business day, verifying information in our databases of medical practices, hospitals, pharmacies and nursing homes.
Last month, we announced the completion of the largest market-research project in our 27-year history. To gather information for a top-15 pharmaceutical company, we made more than 70,000 phone calls targeting 45,000 multispecialty office-based physician sites. Now that’s a lot of dialing!
