James O. Armitage, MD
Dr. James O. Armitage graduated from the University of Nebraska Medical Center, completed his internship and residency in internal medicine at Nebraska and a fellowship in hematology oncology at the University of Iowa. Dr Armitage developed and directed the Bone Marrow Transplant program at the University of Iowa and University of Nebraska. At Nebraska he served as Vice-Chair of Internal Medicine, Chief of the Section of Oncology and Hematology, Chair of the Department of Internal Medicine, and Dean of the College of Medicine. He is currently The Joe Shapiro Professor of Medicine at the University of Nebraska Medical Center. Dr. Armitage is board certified in internal medicine, medical oncology, and hematology, and a Fellow of the American and Royal College of Physicians. He has served on many national/international oncology committees including the United States National Cancer Advisory Board and is a member of the French National Cancer Advisory Board. He is past president of the American Society of Clinical Oncology and the American Society of Blood and Marrow Transplantation. He has also served on oncology committees in France, Germany and Switzerland. Dr Armitage received numerous honors including the Claude Jacquillat Award for achievement in Clinical Oncology from Paris, the San Salvatore Foundation Research Award from Switzerland, the Richard and Hinda Rosenthal Foundation Research Award from the American Associate of Cancer Research, the Heath Memorial Award from the University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center, and election to the Association of American Physicians. Dr. Armitage has published 492 papers, written 106 chapters and is co-editor of 25 books.

Alain Herrera, MD
Alain Herrera, MD, founded Alain Oncology Consulting after heading the Oncology division at Sanofi-Aventis for 10 years. He was the company’s Vice President for Global Oncology Business Strategy and Development from 2007 to 2008, and the Head of Global Oncology Franchise from 1998. Dr. Herrera has held previous positions as the Chairman of Chiron Therapeutics Europe, Director of Chiron B.V, Corporate Vice President and Member of Management Council of Chiron Corporation, and Managing Director at Pierre Fabre Oncology Laboratories. Since 1991, Dr. Herrera has been the Hematologist Consultant at Antoine Beclere Hospital and Beaujon Hospital, and was also the Senior Resident and assistant to Professor Pierre Boivin (Beaujon Hospital/ University Paris VII). Dr Herrera’s professional memberships include the ASCO (American Society of Clinical Oncology) and ESMO (European Society of Medical Oncology), and he is an Executive Committee member of ESH (European School of Hematology). Dr. Herrera has published widely, authoring many original manuscripts and contributing to numerous review articles and book chapters. He has also lectured extensively at national and international meetings on cancers.

Mark Kroes, Vice President Cegedim Customer Information
After completing his degree in economics in 1988, Mark Kroes started his career in the healthcare industry with Eli Lilly, followed by Sandoz. He held positions in marketing, sales and market research before moving on to PMSI. At PMSI Mark was responsible for the Dutch market. Within a few years his responsibilities expanded to a European role. In 1998, Mark founded Pharma Vision; a company specialized in targeting, sales force effectiveness and influence mapping for the healthcare industry.
The company was acquired by Dendrite in 2002. With the support from Dendrite, Mark expanded his Benelux business to all major European countries and in the course introduced Physician Connect to the healthcare industry. Physician Connect became a key product within the Dendrite product portfolio. With the merger of Cegedim and Dendrite in 2007, Physician Connect was launched in more than 30 countries worldwide. Mark currently holds the position of Vice President at Cegedim Customer Information and is responsible for all global custom projects.

Marcus Bergler, Vice President Sales and Marketing Cegedim Customer Information
Marcus Bergler is responsible for the Syndicated Study business within Cegedim Customer Information (CCI). He is based in Brussels. Before joining CCI in March 2010 Marcus held positions as Consulting Principal and Sales Team Leader at IMS Health, Germany. During his time as Principal and leader of the Promotion Management practice he received the IMS Global Client Excellence Award for permanent delivery of high quality consulting projects measured by independent client satisfaction evaluation. From 2003 to 2006 Marcus was responsible for the business development of Rogers Medical Intelligence Solutions, New York in the German market, providing innovative competitive intelligence and medical education services to pharmaceutical companies in Germany. Prior to that Marcus had ten years of consulting experience in the healthcare and pharmaceutical industry. Marcus holds a degree in economics from Ludwig-Maximilians-University in Munich and is fluent in English and German.

In 2007, David Escalante joined SK&A as its president and COO and was elected CEO in July 2008. Following the acquisition of SK&A by Cegedim in January 2010, Dave was named Vice President of SK&A, A Cegedim Company. He has more than 14 years of experience in delivering sales and marketing solutions to pharmaceutical and biotech companies. Dave has worked with nearly all the top 50 U.S. and international pharmaceutical companies and is familiar with the business, technology, processes, and data required for healthcare companies to market successfully. Dave’s most recent positions were vice president at MarketRx, a provider of sales and marketing effectiveness solutions to pharmaceutical and biotech firms, and vice president of product management at Dendrite International, a leader in pharmaceutical services. In both positions, he developed multiyear growth strategies for new and existing products in global markets. Dave is a graduate of Rutgers University, with a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science and History.
